It supports the roof in a rollover, gives the passenger airbag something to push against, and on most vehicles built in the last decade it carries the camera that runs lane-keeping and emergency braking. We treat glass work like the safety repair it is: correct glass, correct urethane, correct cure time, and recalibration when the vehicle calls for it.
Chip & crack repair: resin injection for rock chips and short cracks, usually done the same visit, before they spread.
Windshield replacement: full removal and installation with OEM or OEM-equivalent glass, new moldings, and the urethane the manufacturer specifies.
Side & rear glass: door windows, quarter glass, vent glass, and rear windshields, including defroster and antenna connections.
ADAS recalibration: forward-facing camera and sensor recalibration arranged with our calibration partner so driver-assistance features work the way they did before.

Old glass and adhesive come out, the frame is prepped and primed, and the new glass is set with manufacturer-specified urethane.

Insurance claims
Glass claims are usually simpler than you expect.
Most comprehensive policies cover windshield and glass damage, and many carry a lower deductible for glass than for collision. You choose where the vehicle is repaired. Spark works with all major insurers, handles the glass claim paperwork, and documents any recalibration the vehicle requires so it is covered as part of the repair.
Comprehensive coverage: chips, cracks, and break-ins are typically comprehensive claims, not collision claims, so they rarely affect your rate the same way.
Your choice of shop: California drivers are not required to use the glass company an insurer suggests.
Calibration documented: when a replacement requires ADAS recalibration, we include it in the estimate so the insurer sees the full scope.

What drivers usually ask first.
Can my windshield chip be repaired, or does it need replacement?
Most chips smaller than a quarter and cracks shorter than about six inches can be repaired with resin if they are not in the driver's direct line of sight or at the edge of the glass. Damage that is larger, deeper, or sitting in front of the driver or a camera usually means replacement. Bring it in and we will tell you which one it is.
How long does windshield replacement take?
The installation itself usually takes about an hour, but the urethane needs a safe drive-away time before the vehicle can leave, typically one to a few hours depending on the adhesive and the weather. If the vehicle needs ADAS recalibration, plan on additional time for that.
Do I need ADAS recalibration after a windshield replacement?
If your vehicle has a camera mounted behind the windshield for lane-keeping, adaptive cruise, or automatic emergency braking, the manufacturer almost always requires recalibration after the glass is replaced. We identify this when we look up your VIN and arrange the calibration with our partner as part of the job.
Will insurance cover my windshield?
If you carry comprehensive coverage, glass damage is usually covered, often with a separate and lower glass deductible. We can check your coverage and file the claim for you. Chip repairs are inexpensive enough that some drivers pay out of pocket rather than open a claim.
Is it safe to drive with a cracked windshield?
A small chip outside your line of sight is generally safe to drive on for a short time, but cracks spread with heat, cold, and road vibration. A crack in the driver's view, a crack that reaches the edge of the glass, or a shattered side window should be looked at right away. California law also prohibits driving with damage that obstructs the driver's view.
